Splenbox 400 Awning Installed in Dubai

This Dubai villa had an open patio directly outside the kitchen and dining area, exposed to full sun for most of the day. A retractable folding-arm awning measuring 5.5 x 4m was installed to extend usable outdoor living space and shade the glazed doors and seating below.

The awning was fitted with a silver cassette housing and an olive green canopy, mounted above the arched glass doors between the first and second floor windows. A Somfy Eolis 3D IO wind sensor was added so the awning retracts automatically in strong wind, protecting the fabric and frame without manual intervention.

With the awning extended, the patio and outdoor dining furniture are fully shaded, while the unit retracts neatly against the wall when not in use, keeping the façade clean and uncluttered.
